Diamond is a proud partner of Warriors’ Best Friend, a nonprofit organization that professionally trains service dogs for veterans, service members and students. Through Operation Enrichment, Diamond is providing a consistent source of balanced nutrition to Warriors’ Best Friends’ canine recruits, giving them all the sustenance they need to succeed. Here we meet one of the canine recruits and learn about their journey from shelter rescue to trained service dog.
When you’re highly motivated and eager to please, work never really seems like “work.” And that’s the case with Gregory, a gentle and friendly two-year-old boxer/Labrador mix who lives to work — whether there are treats involved or not.
Gregory joined the Warriors’ Best Friend training program after being adopted from Independence Animal Services in Independence, MO. He has a calm and friendly demeanor, is very patient and leans in closely for affection. He adores all creatures, big and small, is fiercely loyal and endlessly loving.
When he’s in training mode, Gregory loves to show off his favorite commands: “under” and “comfort.” Gregory is intelligent and confident, loves to learn new things and is laser focused while training — nothing distracts him while he’s working. He’s always ready for anything that comes his way, and his best motivation is pleasing his handler!
Playful Gregory is wonderful with humans of all ages and loves his weekly trips to school where he receives endless pets and attention. When Gregory isn’t working, he plays chase with his canine friends, shares toys or explores all the smells and sights of the great outdoors on his daily walks.
Gregory will soon complete his training and be ready to pawsitively impact the lives of schoolchildren. Learn more about Operation Enrichment — our partnership with Warriors’ Best Friend.
