Otto, Feline "Biggest Loser"
Have you heard about "Otto", the rescued cat that weighed 35 pounds? According to veterinarians, this is equivalent to a 500 pound person. Otto has lost 6 pounds, to reach 29 pounds. He is still very overweight, but is on his way to becoming fit and healthier. The 6 pounds that Otto lost would be like the 500 pound person losing 100 pounds. Obesity in pets is an epidemic that mirrors that in the human population with figures estimating 50-66% of pets being overweight or obese. Overweight pets are more likely to suffer from health problems so do your pet a favor and learn about ideal lean body condition and keep your pet there!
